Markdown is the new HTML

closer to Tim Berner-Lee's orig vision and pitch for it back in late 90s:

* page of plain text, mostly

* few simple features for formatting. like bold, underline...

* clickable URL links out (opt.; the graph of ALL these refs is The Web)

* embedded img's (opt.)

thats it. mostly

gives us 99% of what we need. 99% of cases

so much edge case complexity & resource usage bloat & attack surface & privacy shenanigans simply... go away -- they have NOWHERE to hide! :-)
